Plesser’s Wine & Cheese

On Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 we hosted our 3rd Annual Wine & Cheese Night to benefit Long Island Home Builders Care.  LIHBC is a non-profit organization that gives back to the community by donating their time and expertise in the field of construction and housing. In addition, LIHBC has a scholarship fund and organizes food and toy drives to help families in need. One of their recent projects was to help an elderly woman by paving her driveway. With the help of Dacor, a high-end luxury appliance line focused on innovation and design, sponsoring the entire Wine & Cheese Night – we were able to have a successful evening.

As some of you may remember, last week’s weather was inundated with rain – Wednesday was no exception. But, we didn’t let that stop us. We brought the party inside. Plesser's -4Outside, we had setup our 1974 VW Kegerator Van that was fully restored by Marc and Alan Howard of Plesser’s Appliances. Running thru the taps were a variety of beers for all guests to enjoy. To help guests from getting wet, our tent was set up outside to provide for easy access to the beer van. Once inside, guests were able to pursue around the showroom stopping in different areas for a quick snack, to view our musical entertainment or to grab some wine. As you made your way towards the front of the showroom, in our front kitchen servers were pouring reds and whites for guests to enjoy. To accompany the beer and wine, cheese and meat platters were served which were generously donated by our friends at Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar in Babylon. In our showroom, we made a mock stage on our second floor for Seth Thomas to entertain our guests with a plethora of musical genres. There was something for everyone.

Charlie Mancini, Chairman of the Board at LIHBC and Michael Souto, President of LIHBC both spoke during the evening and highlighted past and upcoming projects of Long Island Home Builders Care. Beth Howard-Price of Plesser’s Appliances thanked our sponsors and all our guests for coming.

In addition, to help raise more for LIHBC, Plesser’s raffled off a Weber Q Grill, a Sonos Play 1 and a 3 piece Weber Tool Set and a Plesser’s hoodie. Thanks to the generosity of all our guests in total we raised $6,000. With the help of Long Island Home Builders Care, we also set up a food collection for the Town of Babylon food pantry. Guests brought non-perishable items that were given to the pantry the next day. Tons of cans and other non-perishable items were donated!
