Plesser’s Recipes: Classic Italian Meatballs

Hi! Welcome to the first ever Plesser’s Recipes Revealed! As some of you may know, we occasionally will have Valerie Rose, one of our favorite chefs, come in and cook some delicious dishes up at our Babylon Showroom. We have gotten an overwhelming amount of people asking us to post the recipes online. After a long deliberation, we decided to FINALLY share those recipes with you! Woo-hoo! The first recipe reveal is classic Italian meatballs!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz of Filippo Berio Pesto
  • 1 lb of 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs by 4C
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of Pecorino Romano
    2 shakes of Onion powder
  • 3 shakes of Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until well-combined. Roll into 1+1/2 inch balls.
  2. Heat some olive oil in a large sauté pan or dutch oven over medium heat and add the meatballs. Let them fry, cooking on each side until lightly browned, but not cooked all the way through. About 10-15 minutes.
  3. Add the meatballs to tomato sauce and let them simmer on medium low heat for about 45 minutes.
