At Plesser’s we know how important it is to do everything we can to protect and preserve our planet for not only us but the future generations to come. Which is why we are proud to be working with vendors that are taking action. We will be highlighting specific products and brands that are working hard to reduce their carbon footprint and impact the environment in a positive way. Since 1990, Bosch has worked hard to cut the water consumption of their appliances by more than half. All Bosch washers are energy star qualified thanks to their energy-efficient EcoSilence™ Motor and the SpeedPerfect™ option washes. Think green when shopping for your next washer!
Another company, Electrolux, is making great strides towards reducing their environmental footprint. They have been integrating recycled materials into their products, promoting resource efficiency, using more sustainable packaging, and increasing availability for spare parts.
While GE has energy star certified appliances in every category, we wanted to highlight their vent hoods. GE’s energy star range hoods use compact fluorescent lamps (CFL bulbs) which use 70% less energy than the average models, but also provides better lighting to see your cooking. Another energy saving feature is their quiet design with sound levels down to 1.3 sones, which is well below the energy star requirement of 2.0 sones. Small features that go a long way!
Lastly for today’s blog, Whirlpool’s vision is to be the world’s leading kitchen and laundry appliance company. However, to do so, they realized it’s not just about individuals’ homes, but the planet that sustains all of us. Whirlpool has made a global commitment to reach net zero emissions in their plants and operations by 2030. This will be building on their 60% reduction in emissions across all scopes since 2005.
